A new film based on Rudyard Kipling’s classic Jungle Book features some of the brightest actors in Hollywood but it comes with a far darker storyline than we’ve seen before.
In the first trailer for the highly anticipated Andy Serkis-directed film “Mowgli”, the world of the “man cub” raised in the wild by wolves is a far cry from the popular animated and live-action versions produced by Disney.

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Naomie Harris and Serkis himself, newcomer Rohan Chand (who stars as Mowgli) is in good company.
The flick will follow the original story, but with a more frightening outcome — and a lot less singing.
“Mowgli” hits theatres October 19.
