Will Smith is back with a vengeance.
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air sent fans into a frenzy by uploading a behind-the-scenes music video from an upcoming song. “Gettin’ back in the studio,” he captioned the Instagram video. “Just warmin’ up.”
Smith, 49, turned up the heat in the studio, rapping multi-syllabic lines and punctuating his rap bars with bravado. “Wait, wait, wait. Truly, just for the record // Directors make movies, I make directors.”
The “Suicide Squad” actor murdered the microphone, comparing his family to “The Incredibles” and even tackling tabloid media’s invasive coverage of his 20-plus-year marriage to Jada Pinkett Smith: “20 years of swag you just witnessed // Stop the divorce rumours and mind your damn business!”
The video, which was published on Wednesday, was viewed more than 3.5 million times on Instagram and more than 200,000 times on YouTube in roughly six hours.
There is no word on the official release date of the song, but the Twitterverse is teeming with excitement.
