As Meghan Markle and Prince Harry step into their new roles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, they will be appointed a new aide, Samantha Cohen.
Cohen, 49, isn’t new to the royal family, in fact, she acted as Queen Elizabeth II’s assistant private secretary for many years.
Cohen will also serve as Harry’s private secretary when the current head of the couple’s household, Ed Lane Fox, leaves this summer.
Ahead of the royal wedding, Cohen helped Markle with the royal protocol and how to navigate addressing people, according to People magazine and will continue to do so as she takes on her new role.
After news broke that Lane Fox was leaving Harry’s side, Cohen was chosen as his successor as an “interim” private secretary.
“She is a brilliant choice and has been helping Meghan adjust to the new surroundings,” an insider told the mag.
But ever since Kensington Palace announced Lane Fox’s departure, many believe she will stay on longer than the “interim.”
