Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas revealed she had one worry about attending Saturday’s royal wedding… having to wear a hat.
Bonas, 29, who dated Harry, 33, for two years after being introduced by Princess Eugenie in 2012, briefly discussed her former beau’s wedding to Meghan Markle, 36, in her column for The Spectator.
The actress explained, “Friends are starting to get married, which means the dilemma of British wedding attire. Hats.
“Why do I find hats so tricky? Tricky to wear, tricky to look at, and extremely tricky for the poor soul sitting in the pew behind.”
Bonas went on, “Most of the time I avoid headgear. This can prompt disapproving looks from the older generations. Last weekend I attended the royal wedding. The invitation clearly stated that guests must wear hats. Yikes.
“I opted for a minimal feathered number — and can only hope I got it right.”
Bonas’ comments come after Harry’s ex Chelsy Davy, who also bagged herself an invite to the royal wedding, reportedly said her goobyes to her ex during an emotional phone call.
A source told Vanity Fair: “It was their final call, a parting call in which they both acknowledged Harry was moving on.
“Chelsy was quite emotional about it all, she was in tears and almost didn’t go to the wedding. In the end, she went and promised Harry she wouldn’t try and gatecrash the party.”
Despite both Bonas and Davy getting invited to Saturday’s ceremony, they were left off the guest list for the couple’s exclusive evening reception.
