Amongst all the hustle and bustle of the royal wedding weekend, people seemed to focus more on the fact that Victoria Beckham wasn’t smiling during the union of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Beckham has now since responded to the criticism in the best possible way – with fashion.
On Friday morning, the “Spice Girls” alum shared a photo of her rocking a sweatshirt with the slogan: “It’s a dark but happy place.”
“When you’re smiling on the inside 😂😂😂 As the sweatshirt says!! Let your sweatshirt do the talking – get yours now exclusively at my website and #VBDoverSt x VB #DarkButHappyPlace,” she captioned the fashionable photo.
Fans can even grab the sweatshirt for themselves on the designer’s website.
However, the product description on the website doesn’t necessarily hint at the royal wedding criticism, but rather at her love for sunglasses.
“You could say I’m slightly obsessed with sunglasses – I never leave the house without a pair. Wearing glasses all the time, I like to say that I’m in a ‘dark but happy place,'” Beckham writes on the website.
This isn’t the first time that Posh Spice has used fashion to address criticism. In 2017, the 44-year-old turned heads in a t-shirt that read, “fashion stole my smile.”
“That’s me poking fun at myself,” the designer told Vanity Fair about the bold fashion statement. “People are constantly asking me why I don’t take pictures smiling. It’s a bit of fun really and me laughing at myself. This is fashion and it should be fun.”
