As anyone who’s watched “Westworld” already knows, the actors who portray the synthetic robot “hosts” often appear naked in the show — a lot.

“Westworld” star Thandie Newton, who plays renegade host Maeve in the HBO hit, has had her share of nude scenes, and in an appearance on this week’s edition of Britain’s “The Graham Norton Show” she outlined why she doesn’t use a merkin (a.k.a. a “wig” for a hair-free pubic region).

“I did say no to my merkin,” she told host Graham Norton. “One of the reasons why they provided them is because a lot women do things to alter what’s going on down there. So I didn’t need the merkin because I don’t alter anything. Full ’70s bush!”

As Newton explained, since the engineers in Westworld are recreating the Old West, nether regions needed to stay true to the era. “And, obviously, because it was a period piece, you couldn’t have any alterations down there,” she added. “They weren’t waxing and stripping and plucking!”

However, there’s also a more practical reason why Newton is going merkin-free. “I also said no because it’s another 45 minutes to get that thing glued on, and I wanted to go home to my 2-year-old,” she revealed. “I didn’t want to spend time doing that.”
