Mark Hamill Reveals What He And James Gunn Talked About Over Barbecue

James Gunn and Mark Hamill sparked an online meltdown Sunday as they both took to Twitter to share snaps of themselves hanging out at a Hamill family gathering.

The duo got fans’ hopes up after they tweeted one another about grabbing a coffee back in February when a Marvel lover asked Gunn about giving Hamill a role in “Guardians of the Galaxy 3”.

Despite leaving it a few months, Gunn and Hamill finally got together to chat about everything from the weather to their mutual love of dogs… and hopefully some things “GOTG” related.

Hamill, 66, who insisted the “GOTG” cast “didn’t need him” during a recent interview with ET Canada, took to the social media site to share a sweet shot of the pair, with Gunn, 51, admitting he’d eaten the Hamills “out of house and home.”

Reflecting on the meeting, Hamill later told Collider the movie never came up in conversation.

“[Wife] Marilou [Hamill] and I had him down for a barbecue and we didn’t talk about the movie. We talked about living in Malibu and our relatives and pets. It never really came up,” Hamill confessed. “But that’s the way it should be. I didn’t want to strong arm him, in any way. So, I like the movies, they’re fun, but I’m happy to be in the audience. There’s a lot less pressure.”

“That’s why I liked Solo and Rogue One so much,” he explained. “There was 100 percent less Hamill so I didn’t have any sort of anxiety. I could just be in the audience, it was great.”

The showbiz duo’s get-together comes after filmmaker Gunn insisted that Hamill, known for playing Luke Skywalker in the “Star Wars” franchise, lived around the corner from him, so he could pop round whenever.
