Paris Jackson made a swift exit from Dior’s Cruise 2019 show held at the Musee Vivant du Cheval in Chantilly, France on Friday.
According to multiple reports, the 20-year-old model and daughter of Michael Jackson, who has developed a strong connection with the fashion house, left the runway show out of concern for the horses that appeared alongside the models.
Jackson addressed her exit from the event, insisting she did not “storm out,” but “quietly got up and walked out” because she does “not support animals being branded and whipped.”
As Harper’s Bazaar reported, the “open air” runway show, which also battled rainy weather, showcased “Mexican rodeo riders” to go along with the equestrian theme, reportedly prompting Jackson to leave just as the show began to start.
The outlet claimed, “Paris Jackson was spotted leaving the show only minutes in presumably out of concern for animal welfare.”
Similarly, The New York Times said Jackson “stalked out in a rage as the first model made her way down the runway.”
However, a source also told E! News that the model “did not storm out” in anger.
Rather, the source claims, “[Jackson] left because she was uncomfortable with the way in which the horses were being used. She loved the collection and being part of the weekend, but she’s just very sensitive when it comes to animals.”
Following the show, Jackson, still wearing her glitzy Dior dress, shared a photo to Instagram standing barefoot in the rain, writing, “left early n did this.”
Meanwhile, Dior posted the following behind-the-scenes video on the inspiration behind the runway show:
