Viola Davis Leads Group Of Fearless Women In First Trailer For Steve McQueen’s ‘Widows’

Director Steve McQueen returns to the big screen with the star-studded thriller, “Widows”.

Written by McQueen and “Gone Girl” author Gillian Flynn, “Widows” follows a group of four women — Viola Davis, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erivo, and Michelle Rodriguez — who are on a mission to complete a dangerous heist that left all of their criminal husbands dead.

Liam Neeson, who plays Davis’ love interest and the mastermind behind the original gang, joins the elevated cast, which also includes Colin Farrell, Lukas Haas, Robert Duvall, Jon Bernthal, Carrie Coon, Andre Holland, and Daniel Kaluuya.

“Widows” is McQueen’s first theatrical release in five years since his award-winning film “12 Years A Slave”. However, during those five years, McQueen has directed several short films and even a Kanye West music video.
