Alessia Cara’s still not completely used to her new found fame. We caught up with her at a shoot for Fashion’s winter issue, where the singer was still getting used to posing for the cameras. “I think because I’m such a musician and I’m on that side, anything other than music, especially fashion and stuff, is very strange for me, and it’s definitely been an adjustment,”; she tells ET Canada.
“I’m not the most fashionable person,”; she adds, “so I’m learning angles with photoshoots, and makeup tricks and cool things about clothes.”;
We beg to differ! Cara’s definitely got style, which she describes as, “really standard.”; “It’s jeans, t-shirts, Converse – it’s not very girly, it’s more on the boy-ish side,”; she explains.
The “Here”; singer is also still shocked about her immense success: “It’s definitely been something that I had to pinch myself,”; she jokes, “it’s such a cliché thing to say but I understand why people say it now, because it’s definitely been like a “pinch me’ experience. It doesn’t feel real. Some things you dream for so long, and it’s so up in the air and out of reach, [and] when it finally happens it’s hard to grasp and understand that you’re actually doing it.”;
And she’s really doing it, Cara’s debut album “Know-It-All”; comes out November 13 and she can’t wait.
“I’m really excited to release the album. It’s ready to be out and I’m so excited!”; she tells us. “I’d say the album is an extended version of what the EP is, sonically, and conceptually, it’s very much continuing the theme of me as a teenage girl and continuing my thoughts on the world, and life, and feelings.”;
