Everything is awesome because Warner Bros. has released the first look at next year’s much-anticipated “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part”.
The action-packed trailer picks up five years after the events of “The Lego Movie”; the once-jovial town of Bricksburg has become a post-apocalyptic dystopia due to the invasion of Duplo aliens.
While the “Mad Max”-style wasteland has hardened most of the citizens of Bricksburg, the always positive Emmet (Chris Pratt) remains completely carefree. However, when aliens kidnap Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks), Batman (Will Arnett), Princess Unikitty (Alison Brie), Metal Beard (Nick Offerman), and Benny (Charlie Day), Emmet has to travel into outer space to save his friends.

Joining the original cast is Tiffany Haddish, who voices the shape-shifting Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi. “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”‘s Stephanie Beatriz also appears in the movie as Sweet Mayhem, the butterfly-winged astronaut and lead villain of the story.
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who wrote and directed the first film, returned to co-write the script for the sequel, and judging by the trailer, the “21 Jump Street” directors have delivered on their promise to include “more female characters and more female stuff.”
At one point in the teaser, Sweet Mayhem mocks Wyldstyle when she finds out that Emmet, of all people, is the Special. “So you fought, and Master Built, and kicked butt, and then the hapless male was the leader?” she jeers.
