“America’s Got Talent” judge Howie Mandel had a brush with death on Tuesday night’s episode of the popular talent show when danger act Aaron Crow brought him on stage to take part in a jaw-dropping stunt.

Crow, a 49-year-old magician and danger artist from Bruges, Belgium, shocked the “America’s Got Talent” audience and the show’s judges — Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, and Mel B — when he poured hot wax into his eyes and began wildly swinging a sword near Mandel’s head.

The nail-biting performance began rather simply with Crow throwing an apple in the air and slicing it in half with a sword, but then things took a turn when he selected two audience members, along with Mandel, to join him on stage.

He gave one a brown paper bag and the other a wooden board. Mandel, meanwhile, was made to stand at the end of the stage with a pineapple balanced on the top of his head.

Crow then dripped the hot candle wax into his eyes and wrapped his face in bandages, duct tape, and foil, completely blocking his vision. He removed a knife from his pocket and blindly stabbed through the bag of rice a female audience member was holding. Then he took out a pair of nunchucks and smashed through the wooden board.

The crowd watched through their fingers as the crazy magician turned his attention to Mandel, who looked petrified as Crow approached. Mandel signalled to Cowell for help, but only received a shrug of the shoulders in return.

As Crow took the sword back out and started swinging is way over to Mandel, the audience shrieked, knowing what he was about to attempt.

“Do not try this at home. Or at work. Or at school,” host Tyra Banks warned as she watched from the sidelines.
