Children at Mitton Manor Primary School in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, got a personalized message from Hugh Jackman this week.
The actor shared some words of encouragement ahead of their class performance of “This Is Me” from the musical “The Greatest Showman”.
“It’s Hugh Jackman here, I’m so sorry I can’t be there with you because I’ve heard that you guys are preparing for a special performance of ‘The Greatest Showman’ in the school assembly,” Jackman tells the students, who are aged 4 to 5, in a video posted to Twitter.
“You guys are going to crush it, you’re going to rock it, you’re going to be absolutely amazing,” he continues.
Two of the students’ teachers tweeted to Jackman and his musical co-stars Zendaya and Zac Efron to tell them how the students were learning about the circus and sharing their love of “The Greatest Showman” songs, especially the message of “This Is Me”, a song about embracing uniqueness and being different.
Jackman ends his video with a positive message to the class: “Remember, life is what you choose to make it and nobody made a difference being like someone else.”
The children are busy writing thank-you cards to send to the actor, according to the class Twitter account.
