Val Kilmer has slammed Anthony Bourdain’s suicide, calling it a “selfish” act.
The “Top Gun” star made the controversial comments in a lengthy Facebook post where he said that the famous chef’s death has “given us cause to be so angry.”
“From every corner of the world you were loved. So selfish,” Kilmer wrote.
Kilmer continued his bizarre rant by asking about the method the recently deceased TV personality used to take his own life, and pondered whether he had cheated on his girlfriend Asia Argento before the suicide.
“So what? I hear you took your life in paris. What hotel? Did you relapse? Did you just get home from the best meal of your life? Did you cheat on your girl.”
“Those of us that knew you are shocked and angry and angry and angry selfishly angry, for what you just did to us. Millions I should think. At least a million people like me who imagine they know you.”
Kilmer then alluded to his own recent struggles with throat cancer.
“Would you have taken your life two years ago when like me you were unable to take in food and move it with your tongue over your taste buds because your tongue was too swollen?”
He then brought up the Emmy Award-winning host’s father and wondered if their strained relationship played a part in his decision.
“Was your father’s hate so still so present as to cloud over every last sunny moment of every single damn day Anthony. Oh darkness,” he wrote.
Bourdain, 61, was found dead in his hotel room in Strasbourg, France, on Friday morning (June 8).
