It appears that Rosie O’Donnell and her estranged daughter are mending their fractured relationship, with the “SMILF” star confirming she and daughter Chelsea, 20, have “reconnected.”
Earlier this week, Chelsea’s boyfriend Jacob Bourassa announced they were expecting their first child together, with the baby due in January (Chelsea announced she was pregnant in 2017 with then-husband Nick Alliegro, but subsequently lost the baby; the couple reportedly separated a few months ago).
The daughter of the 56-year-old star had made headlines due to her fraught relationship with her famous mom; Chelsea has accused her adoptive mother of being abusive, while O’Donnell has maintained her daughter suffers from mental illness.
After The Mirror reported that Chelsea was expecting again, O’Donnell issued a statement to E! News confirming her daughter is pregnant, and that the mother-daughter relationship is on better footing than it had been.
“Yes, she is pregnant,” said O’Donnell in a statement. “We have reconnected.”
