Barbra Streisand has teamed up with Netflix to launch six vintage music specials and an expanded edition of the 1976 musical drama “A Star Is Born”, it’s been confirmed.
Streisand, 76, revealed the exciting news to Jamie Foxx while discussing her recent Netflix special “Barbra: The Music… The Mem’ries… The Magic!”
The pair’s chat took place during the streaming service’s month-long FYSEE closing night celebrations on Sunday.
The musical legend revealed that Netflix will soon be airing “My Name Is Barbra” (1965), “Color Me Barbra” (1966), “Barbra Streisand: A Happening in Central Park” (1968), “Barbra Streisand and Other Musical Instruments” (1973), “Barbra Streisand: The Concert” (1994), and “Barbra Streisand: Timeless” (2001).
According to Variety, the new edition of “A Star Is Born” is also set to include never-before-seen footage of Streisand performing an instrumental version of “Evergreen” for the first time, along with additions to the medley finale.
The latest cut of the much-loved flick is to be launched on Netflix before another version, starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, hits theatres in October.
