The fifth installment to the “Jurassic Park” franchise, “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”, is ready to take a bite out of the summer box office.
“Jurassic World” stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return to their roles with the added bonus of a familiar face from the “Jurassic Park” franchise.
ET Canada’s Matte Babel travelled to Hawaii to sit down with the pair and talk about “roughing it” on set.
“It was rough,” Pratt shares of their time on set, but adds “it was a lot of fun! If you’re still laughing at this point, then you know you’re doing something right. You know, it’s a monumental amount of work to make these movies, then go into post-production, and then promote it, and we’ve been having fun this whole time.”
Pratt’s co-star Howard adds, “we pretend there are dinosaurs there when sometimes, there aren’t. That’s pretty ridiculous.”
“There are some moments, while you’re making [the film] where you really gotta trust your director,” Pratt continues. “You’re like ‘you got some footage of me running and screaming and flapping my arms and there’s nothing behind me. I know you’ll put a dinosaur in there, it’ll all look good,’ …but for a brief moment you feel embarassed. Acting is embarassing.”
With the franchise celebrating the 25th anniversary of the original film, what better time to have Jeff Goldblum come back? Both Pratt and Howard couldn’t agree more, adding what a pleasure the veteran actor was to have on set.
“Having him so present and nice to everybody, it felt like it was an endorsement,” Pratt shares. “He’s from the original cast, he showed up to help us with this movie and it made us think, we have the permission to do this, granted, Steven Spielberg hired us, so I knew we had the permission,” he continues. “It’s nice to get that endorsement from someone from the original cast.”
“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” hits theatres June 22, 2018.
