If you’re a “RuPaul’s Drag Race” fan, then you know how intense season 10 has been.

The one person who always brings the drama is RuPaul’s right-hand woman, Michelle Visage. Visage has been a judge on “RuPaul’s Drag Race” since 2011 and fans say it’s all because of her brutal honesty and sometimes biting comments.

ET Canada sat down with the TV personality to chat about everything from her friendship with RuPaul to her favourite celebrity guest judge appearances on the hit reality TV show.

“I’ve been called the ‘Simon Cowell’ of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’. To me that’s a compliment,” Visage said of her role on the show. “Simon is the only one who cuts to the chase, he tells you what he’s thinking, he tells you what needs to be fixed, and you wanna please him. So that is my role on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, you wanna please me! I’m gonna tell you the truth.”

The star said that although she may be tough on her girls, it’s all out of love – making it impossible to pick a favourite.

“In order to pick favourites – I’m a mother of two girls – It’s like ‘Sophie’s Choice’, it’s like a gay ‘Sophie’s Choice’. I would never pick one over the other,” she explained.

Although she may not be able to pick a favourite queen from the current season or seasons past, Visage said that her all-time favourite will always be the head judge of “Drag Race” and iconic drag queen, RuPaul Andre Charles.

Visage first met RuPaul in the night club scene in New York City, back in 1988. However, she said they didn’t have a working relationship until 1996, when they started co-hosting a radio show together.

“We can complete each other’s sentences, we get exactly what each other are saying,” she said of their friendship. “Everybody has that one friend where you look at them and they know what you’re thinking.”

Having been friends with RuPaul for decades, Visage said that although RuPaul may be sharing his life on the small screen, there are still things people and fans may not know about the drag superstar.

“I think people would be surprised to know how quiet, reserved and also private RuPaul is. A lot of people live their life openly – reality this, reality that,” Visage said. “Ru likes to separate his personal life and have some things close to him.”

Although he may be private off screen, on “Drag Race” RuPaul’s hosting skills have earned him an Emmy – as well as a huge celebrity following, including Christina Aguilera, Halsey and Lady Gaga.

“The thing about ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ is the celebrities that come on, they come on because they’re superfans,” Visage explained. “I hit it off with Halsey, she was lovely, she’s like a little daughter figure.”

Another A-list celebrity to appear as a guest judge on “Drag Race” was Canadian country music icon, Shania Twain.

In the past Twain had expressed her support for President Donald Trump, saying she would’ve voted for him if he had been eligible for the 2016 US presidential election. She later apologized for the comment, saying she had “no common moral beliefs” with Trump.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t get into politics with her when she was on the show, so it was kind of shocking to see her stance on Trump when that came out after and it was like “Oh OK!” that wasn’t anywhere in sight!” Visage expressed. “But she is Canadian. Maybe it’s a different outlook. I don’t know. At the end of the day, she did apologize.”
