Stan Lee’s business manager, Keya Morgan, was allegedly arrested this week on suspicion of filing a false police report and now Lee has filed a restraining order against him.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Morgan, 36, was arrested around 1 p.m. on Monday and taken into custody by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollywood Division.
The publication added that his bail had been set at $20,000. They also said that despite the LAPD releasing few details about the manager’s arrest, it could have something to do with reports that Lee, 95, was recently confronted by two gunmen at his home.
On Wednesday, TMZ reported Lee had filed for a restraining order against Morgan in Los Angeles. The case was filed under “Elder/Dependent Adult Abuse Prevention.”
Days before Morgan’s alleged arrest, Lee posted a video on Twitter to say that Morgan was the only one acting as his representative and that the duo were “conquering the world.”
The latest claims come after People reported in April that the superhero creator was suing his ex-manager, Jerardo Olivarez, after he allegedly cheated the star out of millions.
According to court documents, after Lee’s wife of 70 years, Joan, passed away in late 2017, he “became the target of various unscrupulous businessmen, sycophants and opportunists who saw a chance to take advantage of [his] despondent state of mind.”
