Meghan Markle could get an Emmy Award nod for her role on the final season of “Suits”.
A rep for the USA Network confirmed the exciting news to ET Canada, with the actress being put forward in the Supporting Actress category for her role as Rachel Zane on the hit series.
Markle, 36, who married Prince Harry, 33, at Windsor Castle last month, starred on the drama since its inception back in 2011.
Her final scenes aired earlier this year after she quit the role following her royal engagement announcement in November.
The network’s spokesperson also confirmed they had submitted “Suits” for the Drama Series, Directing (Anton Cropper, Episode 716) and Writing (Episode 716) awards.
Patrick J. Adams, who was Markle’s on-screen husband, has also been submitted for the Lead Actor award, as is Gabriel Macht.
Rick Hoffman has been submitted for the Supporting Actor nomination alongside Sarah Rafferty, who has been submitted for the Supporting Actress honour along with Markle.
The nomination process for the 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards kicked off this week, with the TV Academy posting ballots online.
There are reportedly around 728 shows in the running this year, which is about 18 up from 2017.
