Pete Davidson apparently doesn’t waste time when it comes to getting engaged, and neither does he skimp when it comes to buying the ring.
Although the “Saturday Night Live” star and the “No Tears Left to Cry” singer had only been dating a few weeks before he popped the question, Davidson shelled out some big bucks for the diamond he slid on her finger.
According to ET, “a source close to the couple” says that Davidson spent $93,000 on the ring, which was custom-made by New York City jeweller Greg Yuna (who has been nicknamed “Mr. Flawless”). The ring, reports ET, features a VVS1 clarity 3.03-carat diamond set in platinum and took two weeks to complete.
Although the couple, both 24, had just come off long-term relationships (Grande had been dating Mac Miller while Davidson had been dating Cazzie David, daughter of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Larry David), their whirlwind romance swept them both off their feet.
“Pete introduced Ariana to his mother [Amy Waters Davidson] at Zuma in New York during one of the ‘SNL’ afterparties,” a source told ET. “Ariana spent the majority of the night hanging out with her. Pete was circulating the room with the cast but Ariana was super comfortable being with [Amy].”
