Princess Eugenie is one of the only members of the royal family to share details surrounding her personal life on her own personal social media accounts. However, did she break royal protocol by sharing one snap in particular over the weekend?
The 28-year-old took to Instagram to congratulate her father, Prince Andrew, who was recently appointed Colonel of the Grenadier Guards following Prince Philip’s retirement, during Trooping the Colour on Saturday.
Despite her post seeming like one of her usual family snaps, it’s now being questioned whether Eugenie should have shared a pic of her dad in such a private area of Buckingham Palace.
Meghan Markle deactivated her social media accounts after she got engaged to Prince Harry last year, and all news regarding the newlyweds, as well as Kate Middleton and Prince William, now goes through Kensington Palace’s official account.
Andrew’s daughter, who has shared numerous family snaps since starting her Instagram account back in March, didn’t seem too much bothered about this though, with her posting in the caption: “A wonderful and proud day celebrating Her Majesty’s birthday and @hrhthedukeofyork for his first Trooping the Colour as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.”
Unsurprisingly, Eugenie’s 210,000 followers were quick to take to the comments section to gush over how lovely the Palace, and her father, were looking.
One person posted, “Lovely family snap of Duke of York. Always was so handsome. I remember Prince Andrew was considered the Prince Charming of his day!”
“What an honour! He is looking very dapper!” a second added.
