One year after marrying Prince William, Kate Middleton made her first solo appearance with Queen Elizabeth II.
The pair travelled by train to Leicester from Kings Cross St. Pancras Station and were later joined by Prince Philip.
The Queen will embark on a similar outing taking place Thursday with Meghan Markle. Markle’s adventure with Her Majesty will involve a ride on the royal train to Cheshire.
Middleton and the Queen’s journey was part of her Diamond Jubilee tour (celebrating her 60-year reign) of the United Kingdom and included stops at De Montfort University and Leicester Cathedral.
The Duchess of Cambridge, then 30, glowed in a teal L.K. Bennet peplum suit that she paired with a black hat by James Lock, while the Queen opted for a bright pink ensemble.
Markle’s one-on-one trip comes less than four weeks after she married Prince Harry at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.
