Gisele Bundchen was asked about the moment her now-husband Tom Brady proposed as part of Vogue‘s latest “73 Questions” series.
Bundchen, 37, who married Brady, 40, back in 2009, spoke about how the New England Patriots quarterback made up quite the story before he asked for her hand in marriage.
“When he proposed to me, he made up this whole story how my apartment was flooding and I ran over there to try to fix the situation.
“When I got there, the whole apartment had candles and rose petals everywhere and then he went down on his knees to propose.”
However, she admitted that she ended up telling the sportsman to “Get up.”
“[He] had three staph infections. I’m like, ‘What are you doing?’ He’s like, ‘I gotta go on my knees.’ I’m like, ‘No, no, no, get up, please!’ And here we are.”
Bundchen also gave some marriage advice to viewers in the interview, which saw Brady and their daughter Vivian, 5, make surprise cameos.
The star told the camera: “Keep it open and loving, communication.”
As well as filming “73 Questions”, Bundchen is also on the cover of Vogue‘s July 2018 issue, with her insisting she’s more than just a model in the accompanying interview.
“I’m not a model. Modelling is a job that I do, a career that I’ve had. It allowed me to see the world, and I was well paid for it. But it never defined me.”
