In a new Netflix featurette, “Stranger Things” breakout stars Millie Bobby Brown and Noah Schnapp chat about their characters’ evolution as they head into season three.
In documentary-style videos, the pair also give fans insight into the challenges they have faced filming the show, including “acting off something that’s not there.”

Brown, who earned an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Eleven, says she didn’t prep for the life-changing role. “Season 1, I didn’t prepare at all,” she said. “I didn’t know what to prepare for. That’s why Eleven came out the way she did.”
And Schnapp’s Will, who spent season one trapped in the Upside Down, returned with a vengeance in the second season.

“He’s trustworthy and he’s reliable,” Schnapp said of his fun-loving character. “I would want Will as a friend and I think anyone can relate to that.”
Season three of “Stranger Things” is currently in production.
