XXXTentacion’s Rep Releases Statement Following His Sudden Death

After conflicting reports about his condition, 20-year-old rapper XXXTentacion has been pronounced dead by authorities after being shot in Florida.

According to TMZ, the rapper — whose real name is Jahseh Onfroy — was shopping for motorcyles in South Florida when a gunman ran up to him while he was leaving a motorcycle dealership, and shot him at point-blank range. A subsequent report indicated the incident may have been a drive-by, with the alleged shooters leaving the scene in a black Dodge Journey, with witnesses claiming to have heard multiple shots fired. A further report indicated witnesses told officers that a Louis Vuitton bag was stolen from XXXTentacion’s vehicle.

An eyewitness to the shooting tells TMZ that the rapper had “no pulse” after being shot, but Variety was unable to confirm that report. The Broward Co. Fire Dept. told TMZ that XXXTentacion has been rushed to a hospital, with dispatch audio obtained by TMZ referring to a “level 1” trauma patient that dispatchers described as comatose.
