Adonis Creed is stepping back in the ring to face a ghost from his father’s past in the latest chapter in a cinematic saga that began more than 40 years ago in Rocky.

In the just-released trailer for “Creed II”, Adonis (Michael B. Jordan) is facing the progeny of the Russian behemoth responsible for the death of his father, heavyweight champ Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), and once again he’ll have Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) in his corner.

In the sequel to 2015’s “Creed”, Adonis and Rocky prepare for a match with Victor Drago (Florian Munteanu), son of Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren, reprising his role), who killed Adonis’ father in the ring back in the 1985 blockbuster “Rocky IV”.

Also in Adonis’ corner are his girlfriend Bianca (Tessa Thompson, Westworld) and Apollo’s widow, Mary Anne Creed (Phylicia Rashad), as the pugnacious pugilist steps into the ring with his most fearsome foe yet. Steven Caple Jr. (The Land) directs.
