It’s the duet we never knew we needed.
After opening The Rolling Stones show at London’s Twickenham Stadium on Tuesday night, British breakout musician James Bay took the stage again alongside the rock and roll legends to perform their 1978 classic “Beast of Burden”.
Ahead of their performance, guitarist Keith Richards shared some words of encouragement and chatted to him about some of his pre-show rituals, documenting it on Instagram.
Bay, who just released his sophomore album “Electric Light”, supported the band on the final night of their “No Filter” UK stadium tour.
However, this isn’t the first time Bay and the iconic rock band have sung together. Back in 2015, the singer-songwriter enlisted the help of Ronnie Wood for a live cover of the Faces’ “(You Know) I’m Losing You”.
Bay, 27, took to Instagram following the show to thank the band. “This band have probably shaped the way I make music and perform more than anyone else,” he said. “Their relentless passion and energy on stage is so inspiring. I can’t believe last night was real. THANK YOU.”
The Rolling Stones have invited other famous faces to open for them throughout their UK stadium tour, such as Liam Gallagher and Florence and the Machine.
The entire “No Filter” tour wraps up in just under a month, with the last show in Warsaw on July 8. Check out a video of the collaboration above.
