Lisa Marie Presley says singing a duet on a forthcoming gospel album with her late dad, Elvis Presley, is a “powerful and moving” experience.
The new album, Where No One Stands Alone, celebrates Elvis’s love of gospel music and will feature 14 re-imagined tracks by the late singer, including the father-daughter duet. The collection of gospel songs include Elvis’s original vocal tracks with new instrumentation and backing vocals by musicians who worked directly with Presley, including Darlene Love, Cissy Houston, The Imperials, and The Stamps.
Singing the title track with her dad, Presley writes in the album’s liner notes: “It was a very powerful and moving experience to sing with my father. The lyrics speak to me and touch my soul. I’m certain that the lyrics spoke to my father in much the same way.”
The album, which is set to be released on August 10, includes performances of “Amazing Grace”, “He Touched Me”, “Crying In The Chapel”, and “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.
