Heather Locklear is facing three more charges stemming from her June arrest, with the Ventura Country District Attorney’s Office filing an amended complaint that adds a trio of new charges to the original complaint: battery against a peace officer; battery against an EMT; and resisting, obstructing, or delaying a peace officer.
The amended complaint containing the new charges was filed at a hearing held on Thursday, with Locklear’s attorney, Bill Haney, appearing on her behalf
The former “Melrose Place” star was arrested on June 24 night after allegedly attacking a police officer and a paramedic.
The 56-year-old, who had been hospitalized just a week earlier after reportedly threatening to commit suicide, was taken into custody at her home shortly before midnight.
According to documents obtained by ET Canada, the actress was “booked for two counts of misdemeanor battery upon an officer and emergency personnel” after being arrested on June 24 at 11:30 p.m., before she was booked into jail on June 25 at 2:01 a.m.
Locklear, who was said to have been “heavily intoxicated” at the scene, was later released, with bail set at $20,000.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office told Entertainment Tonight that police were initially called for an unknown disturbance at the actress’ home and upon arriving realized it was a domestic disturbance.
A rep for the sheriff’s office explained that deputies were forced to separate Locklear from the other party involved (whose name is not being released), as it is standard procedure in any domestic violence case to get the parties separate and receive their independent stories.
It was at that time that Locklear kicked one of the deputies interviewing her and she was arrested on the scene. The other party involved in the domestic disturbance was not arrested and was not charged.
After Locklear was arrested, police wanted her to be evaluated due to her level of intoxication, so they had medical personnel on the scene. While the EMT was evaluating the actress, she kicked him as well.
Locklear was released from prison less than 12 hours after her arrest.
According to Perez Hilton, Locklear headed from the slammer to a facility to receive treatment for alcohol and substance abuse.
ET Canada has reached out to Locklear’s rep for further comments.
Previously, it was reported that the star was undergoing a psych evaluation after allegedly threatening to take her own life.
According to TMZ, the Ventura County Fire and Sheriff’s Departments responded at actress’s home on June 17 after a family member placed a 911 call out of concern.
In 911 dispatch audio obtained by the site, the family member described Locklear as erratic and said she was looking for a gun to shoot herself.
