NEON has officially released the new red-band teaser trailer for the Sundance Film Festival breakout film “Assassination Nation”, complete with a number of trigger warnings.
Written and directed by Sam Levinson, the satire follows high school senior Lily and her group of friends who live in the age of social media, only to find their world gets turned upside down when an anonymous hacker starts posting details from the private lives of citizens in their small town. This sparks chaos, leaving Lily and her friends to question whether they’ll survive the night.
The teaser trailer offers only a taste of what to expect from the thriller, with a number of trigger warnings like “blood,” “sexism,” “toxic masculinity,” “kidnapping,” “murder” and “fragile male egos,” to name a few.
The NSFW film ignited a conversation after its debut at the Sundance Film Festival. “Avengers: Infinity War” filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo’s production company, AGBO, teamed up with NEON to acquire the indie film for $10 million after all the buzz.
The film co-stars Odessa Young, Suki Waterhouse, Bill Skarsgard, Joel McHale and Bella Thorne.
