The Republican Party in the U.S. looks to be shifting tactics and targeting celebrities on the political left.
In a new ad from the Republican National Committee, an audio clip of Bernie Sanders plays over the images of comedian Kathy Griffin holding the prop bloody head of Donald Trump and a burning limo.
That is followed by a barrage of clips of liberal personalities with tense, ominous music and drained out colours.
First, Democratic House representative Maxine Waters urges her supporters to protest Trump cabinet members in public spaces such as restaurants
Next, a series of clips including Samantha Bee calling Ivanka Trump a “feckless c***”, Michelle Wolf calling Sarah Huckabee Sanders an “Uncle Tom, but for white women,” Bill Maher saying he hopes for a recession, Johnny Depp asking when was the last time an actor assassinated a president and Madonna reciting a poem with the line “I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House.”
And, finally, following a clip of Snoop Dogg executing a man dressed as Donald Trump, the title “The Left in 2018: Unhinged” appears.
