Gorillaz founding member Damon Albarn has a bone to pick with Kanye West.

The Blur frontman accused West of leeching off other musicians, specifically pointing to the rapper’s “FourFiveSeconds” collaboration with Paul McCartney.

“Before he decided to work with Kanye West, I sent a text message to McCartney saying, ‘beware,'” Albarn told French news magazine L’Obs on Thursday. “But he ignored it, he does what he wants, it’s Paul McCartney.”

Albarn, 50, noted how none of the Beatles icon’s vocals were included in the song but he was still featured in the music video. The Gorillaz founder suggested West was only looking to cash in on McCartney’s name value.

“I have a problem with this abusive collaboration: we’re talking about Paul McCartney,” said Albarn. “We do not hear him in the song, Kanye West thinks only of Kanye West, uses a name to make headlines, to say ‘McCartney is in my song.’”

His accusations follow a recent interview with McCartney, who described the creative process with West as mostly “tootling around on guitar, and Kanye spent a lot of time just looking at pictures of Kim on his computer.”
