Chrissy Metz is giving “This Is Us” fans a tease ahead of the season 3 premiere.
In an interview with Tim Kash on “The IMDb Show”, the actress shared a small detail about what fans can expect from her character Kate’s storyline in the upcoming season.
“Of course we know that Toby and Kate are going through some things. We see that Toby is in a bad way with some mental health issues and we don’t know why,” she said. “Perhaps it will stem from the desire to start a family again and how they will do that.”
“This Is Us” is known for its tear-jerking moments and Metz admitted that many of those scenes were hard to film. However, there was one in particular that made her cry.
“When Rebecca came to the door to console Kate about the miscarriage,” Metz said. “So much was leading up to it and then in that instant, you have to convey a whole entire relationship between a mother and a daughter.”
Before the 37-year-old got her big break on the award-winning drama, Metz revealed to Kash that she was very close to quitting acting.
“I was very close, like literally calling my family and saying like ’12 years? Maybe it’s just not happening for me, I don’t want to be delusional,'” she expressed. “I was on unemployment for like maybe 2 months, and my friend had welcomed me into her home, and I’m not paying her any bills, and I had to borrow money to even go to the audition for gas. So yeah, very close, probably within a week or two.”
Catch the season 3 premiere of “This Is Us” on September 25.
