By Becca Longmire.

Penn & Teller have cancelled all shows until August 18

Teller, one half of Penn & Teller, has taken to Twitter to give a post-surgery update after he had an operation on his back on Monday.

The comedy act, consisting of Penn Fraser Jillette, 63, and Raymond Joseph Teller, 70, took to Twitter over the weekend to announce they would be postponing all shows until August 18. They also promised to be “back with a spring in our step” next month.

Confirming he’d undergone back surgery, Teller has since posted:

The duo, who have been performing together for over 40 years, had to cancel their Biloxi, Mississippi show at the last minute on Friday because Teller was in too pain. The comedian told fans his back had “ordered me to cut the crap.”

He added: “In our entire prior career. I think we’ve had to cancel only four shows on short notice. So I (and much of our crew) feel disoriented and befuddled — as if we’re in one of those showbiz nightmares where you can’t find your way back to the stage in time for the next cue.”
