Katy Perry Supports GoFundMe For Young Boy Diagnosed With ‘Childhood Alzheimer’s’

Katy Perry is backing a fundraiser for a young boy with disease often referred to as “Childhood Alzheimer’s”.

The singer tweeted about Carter, who is suffering from a disease called Sanfilippo Syndrome, a progressive brain disorder that will slowly result in degenerative symptoms.

Carter’s parents Jen and Samir are trying to raise $1 million to fund a clinical trial that is the best chance of saving his life.

The GoFundMe is almost at its target, having raised over $980,000 so far.

Perry urged followers to help Carter’s parents cross the finish line by donating.

“The love for a child is like no other,” his parents wrote on the campaign page. “If you are a parent, you know you would ‘go to the ends of their earth for your little ones.’ We are asking you… will you please go there with us now, for Carter?”
