Russell Peters is once again claiming that Trevor Noah of stealing his jokes.
The Canadian comic appeared on the Sway in the Morning radio show recently when the host mentioned the “Daily Show” host as one of his favourite comedians.
“Why? If you’re a fan of me, you don’t need to be a fan of Trevor Noah,” Peters responded. “Thieving Motherf***er.”
When asked why he would say that, Peters replied, “What do you mean? Why do I say that? Go review the f***ing tapes!”
Once the host realized he was being serious he asked Peters if Noah had stolen any of his material.
“Yeah, I called him out on it once before and I thought he would stop,” Peters said. “And it continued.”
As proof, Peters told the host to watch his “Russian bit” referring to a joke from 2016 about how people who speak Russian sound like they’re talking backwards. In 2017, Noah did a bit in which he compared Russian to sounds from a turntable.
Peters first called Noah out for allegedly stealing his jokes back in 2015.
“He’s stolen material from David Kau. He’s stolen material from myself… It’s not borrowing. You don’t borrow in this business… That’s like stealing somebody’s underwear and putting them on,” he said at the time.
Later, Peters went on Twitter to call the media “gullible” and suggested his accusation was simply a prank. Noah responded with a joke and the two laughed it off.
