The American rock band who was playing during the November 13 attack at Paris’ Bataclan music venue are sitting down to tell their story for the first time.
Eagles of Death Metal band members Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme have sat down with Vice founder Shane Smith in an emotional interview set to debut next week. Both musicians discussed “those they lost, what happened that night, and to try to figure out what it is that they—and we—can do next.”

“Several people hid in our dressing room, and the killers were able to get in and killed every one of them, except for a kid who was hiding under my leather jacket,” Hughes recalled. “People were playing dead, and they were so scared. A great reason why so many people were killed was because so many people wouldn’t leave their friends. So many people put themselves in front of people.”
