Janet Jackson is leaning on her fans following the death of her father, Joe Jackson on June 27.
On Wednesday, the music icon shared an emotional video on Instagram, revealing that she is ready to head back out on her “State of the World” tour.
“Hey you guys, it’s been a pretty rough week,” she said in the clip. “But we’re excited. I’m excited. We cannot wait to see you. It’s been way too long. I miss you guys way too much. I’m about to jump on this plane and start this tour. Like I said, I can’t wait to see you. I love you, I’ll see you soon.”
The video comes just days after Janet and her family laid her father to rest. Joe died at the age of 89 due to pancreatic cancer.
In the post’s caption, Janet thanked her passionate fans for being there for her during the difficult time. “Thank you for all your love and support. Means so much to me during this time,” the caption read.
Janet kicks off the next leg of her tour on July 11 in Austin, Texas.
