Donald Trump has got Elton John on his mind lately.
The U.S. president confirmed to pool reporters on Tuesday that he does indeed have a CD featuring Elton John’s classic “Rocket Man” to give to North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un, but that he had not yet delivered it to him.
The Guardian reported last week, that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo planned to give Kim the CD during their meeting amidst denuclearization talks.
Trump had frequently used “rocket man” as a nickname for Kim prior to their peace summit last month.
It wasn’t the only Elton John-related news from Trump last week.
On July 5, Trump was in Great Falls, Mon. when he went off on an odd tangent about John and the size of the crowds he draws to his speeches.
“I’ve broken more Elton John [attendance] records, and I don’t have a musical instrument,” Trump said, according to Deadline. “I don’t have a guitar, or an organ… This is my only musical instrument – the mouth – and hopefully the brain is attached to the mouth. The brain is so much more important.”
Along with bragging about his mouth and brain, Trump commented on the protester who climbed onto the base of the Statue of Liberty on Wednesday.
“You saw that clown yesterday on the Statue of Liberty?” he asked the crowd. “You see the guys that went up there? I wouldn’t have done it. I would have said ‘let’s get some nets, we’ll wait ’til she’ falls.”
Trump also continued his racist attacks on Sen. Elizabeth Warren and threw in a slam against the #MeToo movement while he was at it.
“Let’s say I’m debating Pocahontas [Warren]. I promise you I’ll do this. You know those kits they sell on television for $2? Learn your heritage?” he said. “We will take that kit – but we have to do it gently because we’re in the #MeToo generation – we will take that kit and toss it, hoping it does not hit her and injure her arm.”
