Kim Karadashian-West is learning more about life behind bars.
The supermodel and reality television star visited a California women’s prison on Friday to meet with female inmates, TMZ reports.
Kardashian, 37, and a few bodyguards met with 15 prisoners at the California Institution for Women in Corona to tour their facilities, learn about their day-to-day lives and their concerns about reintegrating into society.
According to the tabloid publication, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star was at the facility for several hours.
The celebrity’s visit to the prison follows a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in May. During and following the meeting, Kardashian successfully campaigned for the pardon of Alice Marie Johnson who had served more than two decades in jail for a first-time, non-violent drug offence.
She later asked California Governor Brown to re-test the DNA of Death Row inmate Kevin Cooper in relation to a controversial police investigation.
Kardashian’s visit is apparently still lingering with her. On Monday, she took to Twitter to share that the women she met “are still on my mind and in my heart.”
The California Institution for Women houses approximately 1,800 inmates and offers a variety of academic and vocational programs.
