DJ Khaled is feeling the burn from the Twitterverse after the last-minute cancellation of a London concert was announced mere hours after he shared photos of himself relaxing in an infinity pool with his son during a tropical vacation in Mexico.
The hit-making music producer had been scheduled to perform on at the Wireless Festival at London’s Finsbury Park on Sunday, July 8, until the festival announced via Twitter that he wouldn’t be appearing due to “travel issues.”
In the tweet, issued hours before DJ Khaled was set to take to the stage, festival organizers claimed to be “working on something special that won’t disappoint,” which turned out to be a surprise set from Drake.
Despite fans loving Drizzy’s performance, many took to Twitter to criticize festival bosses for the shorter set. The Wireless Twitter account also announced they’d known about the whole thing “for months,” which, again, didn’t go down well with fans.

The latest posts come after the mystery of DJ Khaled’s “travel issues” appeared to be solved courtesy of his social media accounts, on which he shared a photo of himself and his son in an infinity pool just a few hours before the cancellation was announced, writing, “Still on vacation!!!!!!!!”
Meanwhile, he also posted a photo of himself and wife Nicole Tuck sharing a champagne toast aboard a private jet, followed by a video in which he pours himself a big glass of rum while chilling in a pool.
Fans who had been expecting to see DJ Khaled at the festival were not impressed by the possibility that he ditched the show in order to extend his vacation, sharing their feelings on Twitter. Here’s a sampling:
Meanwhile, one rumour making the rounds is that Drake will be stepping in to fill the headlining slot; DJ Khaled was expected to welcome some special surprise guests for his performance, with Drake rumoured to be one of them.
“Drake is known for his surprise appearances, having performed at the Reading festival and London’s Xoyo last year,” an insider tells Metro. “But he’s now planning his biggest surprise to tie in with the launch of his latest album. Giggs and DJ Khaled have asked him to come out on stage with them on Sunday as they bring the festival to a close.”
