Gorillaz was forced to cut short its headlining set at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark after one of the band’s members fell off the stage while performing one of the group’s best-known songs.
As The Independent reports, Gorillaz was in the midst of performing 2001 hit “Clint Eastwood” when rapper Del the Funky Homosapien accidentally took a tumble off the edge of the stage.
The set was abruptly halted, with Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn telling the crowd, “Thanks for a beautiful evening,” before exiting.
Following the accident, festival organizers updated fans on Del’s condition via Facebook, reporting he “was seen on site by a doctor and went to the hospital for further investigation. He’s conscious and talking to his team. We hope he recovers quickly and wish him a speedy recovery.”
Fans can breathe easy; Del (whose real name is Teren Delvon Jones) took to Twitter to offer a firsthand report, explaining that he’s “doing alright but will be in the hospital for a bit.”
