Johnny Depp Is Being Sued For Attacking A Crew Member On Set Of ‘City Of Lies’

ET Canada has confirmed that Johnny Depp is being sued by a crew member of “City of Lies” who claims the 55-year-old actor physically assaulted him on the set of the upcoming film.

According to court documents obtained by ET Canada, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star allegedly punched location scout Gregg “Rocky” Brooks after he was told he only had one more chance to shoot one of the scenes.

The suit claims that Depp, who plays LAPD detective Russell Poole in the upcoming flick based around Biggie Smalls’ murder, hired two of his friends for a scene in downtown Los Angeles back in April 2017, planning to direct his friends in an expanded version of a scene scheduled for that day.

However, when things weren’t going to plan, Brooks had to inform Depp — who reportedly “reeked” of alcohol — that he only had one more shot before running out of time at the location at which they were filming before the filming permits expired, following two extensions that were granted earlier.

At this point, Brooks alleges that Depp became outraged. “Who the f**k are you? You have no right to tell me what to do!” Depp allegedly yelled at Brooks, who state he “remained calm and professional” — which only made Depp angrier.

“I don’t give a f**k who you are and you can’t tell me what to do,” Depp screamed, with Brooks alleging that Depp then punched him “angrily and forcefully” in the ribcage.

The suit states that Brooks did not react to the punches, with Depp allegedly responding, “I will give you one hundred thousand dollars to punch me in the face right now.”

Brooks states he still did not react and Depp continued to scream and berate him until Depp’s own bodyguards physically removed him from the scene.

Brooks added that throughout the altercation Depp’s breath “reeked” of alcohol, and the suit states that Brooks “is informed, believed and thereon alleges that Depp had been drinking alcohol and using drugs throughout the day on set.”

After the incident, Brooks says he was asked to write and sign a declaration stating that he would not sue the production; when Brooks declined, his services were terminated immediately.
