Fans of Charlie Puth have reason to celebrate now that the singer-songwriter has unveiled a brand new video for his track “The Way I Am”, the fifth single from his second album “Voicenotes”.
The video features Puth, looking just a little hungover, while flashbacks interrupt the present to reveal the wild party that took place the night before.
In a recent interview with Genius, the 26-year-old explained that “The Way I Am” — which has racked up more than 18 million Spotify streams since its release — is about him coming to terms with his own celebrity.
“I was known for who I was dating more than my music,” said Puth. “People were forgetting that I was actually a singer. And that was not good and multiple people told me that wasn’t good.”
He added: “I worked too hard to have that reputation. So I just like a slight steer to the left and brought it back to the music. I honestly feel better mentally than I ever have in my life.”
