Ever since “Bachelorette” contestant Colton Underwood revealed that he has yet to have sexual intercourse, fans of the romantic reality hit have been wondering when the former NFL player was going to break the news to Becca Kufrin that he’s a slightly younger version of Steve Carell’s “40-Year-Old Virgin”.
On Monday’s episode, Colton was finally ready to make his big reveal — although he was understandably hesitant.
“I really want to tell her I’m a virgin and it’s a personal choice,” said Underwood, 26, in a confessional before his one-on-one date. “My fear today is just how is she going to react to it. I hope she understands.”
As the pair made out on a yacht in the Bahamas, his plan to break the news was interrupted by a Bahamian who dropped by their boat to help them catch conch — a.k.a. “Bahamian Viagra.”
After their conch-diving excursion, Underwood finally had his chance to tell her during dinner.
“There’s a conversation I do want to have with you because it could be a potential roadblock for us. It’s one of those things that’s hard for me to talk about because I haven’t talked about it very often and it’s something that I struggle with articulating,” he told Kufrin.
“I told you earlier I put my professional life in front of my personal life and I spent a lot of time working on ‘football Colton’ and I sort of forgot who ‘personal Colton was.’ And I only had one serious relationship coming into this and I haven’t had that many girlfriends or that many dates because of sports. And because of that, I am a virgin,” he admitted.
“I get that that’s difficult and I would never want to pressure you or put you out of your comfort zone in a situation where it would worry you,” she responded before telling him she needed to leave the room to gather her thoughts about his bombshell.
“I get it and I respect you for that so much,” she finally told him. “I would never judge you or think any less of you for that.”

In her confessional, she added: “Colton telling me he’s a virgin was unexpected because he hasn’t experienced a ton of life like most people at this part of their lives have. But it means so much that he was able to open up about something that was so difficult for him. I loved when he said, ‘It’s not a marriage thing for me, it’s a heart thing.’ I appreciate someone who takes that so seriously.”
Apparently, his big reveal wasn’t a deal-breaker; at the episode’s end, Kufrin presented him with a rose. Whether he remains a virgin, however, will be revealed in future episodes of “The Bachelorette”.
Jimmy Kimmel was quick to discuss the whole thing during Monday’s episode of “JKL!”, with the host insisting that Underwood had to be the next “Bachelor”.
