Demi Moore has become the victim of a major credit card fraud case, it’s been reported.
According to TMZ, a 35-year-old man called David Matthew Read managed to run up a whopping US$169,000 worth of bills over several weeks after he reported Moore’s AmEx card lost or stolen back in March.
The site claimed Read somehow managed to get his hands on the new card when it was delivered through FedEx, before hitting up several expensive stores in Los Angeles.
Federal prosecutors told the publication that the man in question, who is said to have confessed to the whole thing when he was confronted back in April, was spotted on CCTV. He’s now reportedly behind bars at L.A. County Jail.
ET Canada has contacted Moore’s rep for further comments.
The latest news comes after it was claimed that Moore, who reportedly has a net worth of $150 million, had bagged a role in the upcoming movie “Corporate Animals”.
The Patrick Brice-directed comedy is also set to star Jessica Williams and Ed Helms, Deadline reported.
