English soccer fans are devastated with Wednesday’s World Cup loss against Croatia, but they’re also very proud of their team.
During the 2018 Word Cup Semi-Finals, the Croatians beat out the Brits in a 2-1 win in extra time.
England carried the lead before Croatia skimmed by tying the match, then scoring another point in the game’s overtime.
Prince William, Reese Witherspoon and more celebrities have taken to social media to share their words of encouragement for Team England.
Will, who has been a frequent Twitter user during this year’s World Cup, took to the Kensington Palace official page again to give his sentiments: “I know how disappointed England must feel right now but I couldn’t be more proud of this team and you should hold your heads high. You’ve had an incredible #WorldCup, made history, and gave us fans something to believe in. We know there is more to come from this England team. W.”
Following the defeat, fans of England united together to sing a moving rendition of British band Oasis’ “Don’t Look Back In Anger”.
