Selena Gomez’s Alleged Hacker Officially Charged, Faces Almost 10 Years In Prison

A New Jersey woman has been charged with hacking Selena Gomez’s email and stealing digital property.

Susan Atrach of Ridgefield Park, N.J., was charged on Thursday with numerous charges, including five felony counts of identity theft and five felony counts of “accessing and using computer data to commit fraud or to control or obtain money, property or data.”

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced on Friday that Atrach faces a possible maximum sentence of nine years and eight months in state prison, according to documents obtained by ET Canada.

She is accused of accessing Gomez’ accounts several times from June 2015 to February 2016. Atrach allegedly obtained privately stored media content and shared it online.
