Kelly Oxford took to Instagram Monday to accuse her ex-husband of abuse.
Oxford, 41, who was married to ex James from 2007 to 2016, previously started the hashtag #notokay so that women could open up about their own sexual harassment stories.
She’s now spoken about suffering abuse herself in an Instagram story, sharing the same snap with different text over the top. The writer explained that things got so bad at one point that James allegedly threw a phone at her head.
Oxford, who shares three children with her ex-partner of 17 years, wrote: “Some days I just put on a ton of makeup and write alone all day. I’ve been threatened and scared to write about the marriage I was in, but I’m over it.
“Abuse is hard to talk about. Especially when you’re the only one who sees it. It feels like a ghost.”
The Canadian author continued, “Don’t marry someone who throws a phone at your head, I did and I became a terrible person. I’M BETTER NOW.”

Oxford’s latest post comes after she admitted on Instagram that going on her first vacation since splitting from James had been hard.
“Right now, I’m feeling s***ty,” she wrote. “I’m sharing because I know a lot of you are single parents and get it and don’t want to feel alone either.”
